CHESAPEAKE, Va. — April is National Minority Health Month, and this year Celebrate Healthcare is connecting the Hampton Roads community with resources to help prioritize their health. Two free health clinics will be held in Chesapeake and Hampton earlier this month.
Thursday, April 4, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Celebrate Healthcare is partnering with Sentara at Jasaron Learning Institute in Chesapeake. You can register for this free event here.
Participants can find 3D mammogram services and vaccines, and enroll or renew health insurance and Medicaid plans.
A $15 gift card will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis to anyone who completes a mammogram, has insurance or receives a vaccine.
Another clinic will be held at the Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple in Hampton on Friday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can register to participate in this free event here.
The clinic includes medical exams, vaccinations, and assistance with purchasing health insurance. The event also includes a bonus cardio chair exercise at 11:30 a.m.
Event organizers remind attendees to bring a photo ID and insurance card if they have one. Uninsured people can receive assistance to enroll in health insurance, and those who qualify can receive financial assistance.
