The teenage child of former Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield has been found safe after running away from home, officials said Sunday.
Mint Butterfield, 16, was found in San Francisco at 11:30 p.m. local time Saturday, the Marin County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Sunday.
Minto was last seen at his home in Bolinas, California on April 21st and was reported missing on the morning of April 22nd. Bolinas is approximately 30 miles northwest of San Francisco.
According to the sheriff's office, San Francisco police spotted Minto in San Francisco in a white van belonging to Christopher “Kio” DiZepfalo, 26, and detectives believe the man was a member of Minto's It was determined that the two may have been “adult friends.”
The sheriff's office said investigators learned that Minto may have had an affair with DiZepfalo.
At that point, Marin County Sheriff's detectives rescued Minto and interviewed DiZepfalo, who was arrested on suspicion of “multiple criminal acts” and booked into the Marin County Jail on $50,000 bail. It was done.
The sheriff's office said Minto was unharmed and detectives determined he had run away voluntarily.
The sheriff's office said the search for Minto is “ongoing” as he is listed as a missing person at risk.
