TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida has been named the top state for higher education for the eighth year in a row by U.S. News & World Report.
“Florida State is committed to helping students graduate on time, offering students the lowest in-state tuition and fees, and providing students with the ability to pursue higher education with little or no debt,” the Florida State University System said in a news release. The company received $1 billion in funding last year, according to a news release.
Premier Ray Rodriguez said Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Florida Legislature are prioritizing higher education.
The Florida State University System reports that Florida has invested record funds in higher education since Governor DeSantis took office.

U.S. News & World Report also highlights Florida's higher education achievements.

The state ranks 26th for having the least debt upon graduation and 25th for educational attainment.
According to U.S. News & World Report, educational attainment: “The share of a state's population with a college degree reflects how its residents pursue additional education as an investment in their potential for future success.” That's what it means.
“Florida remains committed to providing world-class higher education at an affordable price to ensure graduates receive a positive return on their investment,” the Florida State University System said in a news release.
