We are pleased to announce that Faiz Siddiqui will join our Business Research team to continue exploring Elon Musk's vast empire.
Over the past four years, Faiz has emerged as one of the most proactive and insightful reporters on the Post's technology team. As a reporter covering the gig economy and autonomous driving in San Francisco, Faiz has written extensively about Uber, how high fares caused by a pandemic-era driver shortage aren't benefiting workers, and the company's IPO celebration. It revealed how out of control the group had become. Faiz also dominated coverage of Musk's acquisition of Twitter, including his plan to gut Twitter employees, immediate firings of executives, and Musk's midnight call for Twitter employees to commit to a “very hardcore” culture. broke the news about the ultimatum. Faiz also broke the news that Musk was pulling out of the deal, a day before Musk publicly announced it. Most recently, his research has uncovered deep flaws in Tesla's Autopilot and fully self-driving software, the sacrifices made by Musk's decision to test Autopilot on public roads, and the impact of Musk's image as an entrepreneurial genius. A decline was evident.
Prior to joining the technology team, Faiz spent four years running the local transportation desk, uncovering critical safety issues plaguing the DC Metro system and tracking documents revealing the inner workings of government agencies. We covered a gunman's attempt to investigate the fake “Pizzagate.” “Conspiracy in Northwest Washington.” He joined the Post as a graduate intern in 2015. In addition to his work at the Post, Mr. Faiz wrote the first article in 2025 that looked at Mr. Musk through the lens of his own management and business practices.
