Facebook and Instagram users have reported widespread issues, with many saying they were forced out of the social media platform and are now unable to log back in.
DownDetector, a site that monitors internet service outages, had received more than 500,000 reports of problems from Facebook users in the U.S. and more than 70,000 reports of problems with Instagram as of around 10:30 a.m. ET. He said that he has received. According to DownDetector, the most frequently reported issues were issues logging into the Facebook app and issues with the Instagram app.
“We understand that people are having issues accessing our services,” Meta spokesperson Andy Stone wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “We are currently working on this.”

DownDetector said Facebook users around the world, from Egypt to Oklahoma, reported being unable to log into the service. On social media, some people expressed concern that their accounts had been hacked after being forced off the service and unable to reconnect using their passwords.
