The next Springfield-Clark County Safety Council meeting is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. today at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Springfield.
The topic is “Ohio EPA Regulations in Your Community” by Maddie Adams of the Ohio EPA.
The rate, which includes breakfast, is $30 and is payable at the door. You do not need to be a member of the safety council.

New York Times author and writer Eli Saslow will be the keynote speaker for the Fred R. Leventhal Family Lecture, the final event in the 2023-2024 Wittenberg Series.
The event is free and open to the public and will be held tonight at 7pm at Weaver Chapel. The title of Saslow's speech was “Rising from Hate.”
After the speech, Mr. Saslow's book will be available for purchase and there will be a book signing. He also plans to attend a lunch with students interested in his research, including students in Wittenberg's journalism and digital media classes. This Wittenberg Series His event is made possible by a gift to Wittenberg University from the Fred R. Leventhal Family.
Doors open 30 minutes before the start of each lecture/performance.

The Champaign County Arts Council will hold an Art Study Club today at 5 p.m. at 119 Miami Street in Urbana.
Artist Debbie Lofting will present and discuss her work.

The Alzheimer's Association Miami Valley Chapter is planning free community education programs about Alzheimer's disease and healthy living throughout the Springfield area during April.
The next program, Effective Communication Strategies, will be held at United Seniors Services (125 W. Main St.) on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

O'Conner's Irish Pub, 2200 N. Limestone St., will host comedy nights on Wednesdays from 7 to 8:50 p.m.
Seating opens at 6pm and dinner and show begins at 7pm. The cost is $10 per person.
plant sales
The Clark State University Agriculture Club's annual Spring Plant Sale will be held Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 570 E. Leffel Lane in the Sarah T. Landes Center Rotunda.
Spring plant sales include a variety of tomatoes, pepper varieties, and other vegetables like broccoli and Brussels sprouts. Also featured are a variety of ornamental flowers and herbs, including snapdragons, zinnias, marigolds, cosmos, mint, basil, and thyme.
The sale is open to the public. This is a cash only event. Agricultural students will be on hand to answer questions about plant care. All proceeds benefit the club.
community meeting
A community meeting will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Urbana PK-8 cafeteria to give the community input on improvements to Urbana athletic facilities.
Presenters are MSA Sports and the Urbana Athletic Facilities Management Committee.

Wittenberg University's Department of Theater and Dance will present Angels in America Part 1: Millennium Approaches by Tony Kushner at the Chaqueres Memorial Theater Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
