The Baylor Career Center held its annual Education Career Fair Thursday, attended by public, private and charter school recruiters from more than 60 school districts. This opportunity was open to education majors and all students interested in pursuing a career in the education field.
Lexi English, senior career success specialist at Baylor Career Center, designed and hosted the fair. English said she contacted the school district during the fall semester to begin making preparations.
“I have over 60 appointments and I I'm really looking forward to it Most are in Texas, but some come from the West and East coasts.” English said. “I work hard to include all public, private, and charter schools because I know students want a variety of opportunities. I think so It's important for them to know what's out there. ”
English said the event is being held during the spring semester because that is when the largest cohort of School of Education interns graduate.However, this event is open to all students.

English said students from McLennan Community College and Tarleton State University, as well as members of the Waco community, were also invited to the event..

“We love Baylor because our students are so well prepared for the job market, and we have a lot of students here who are under-represented in the teaching profession.” said Marshall. “We always like Baylor candidates.”
