Ethiopian Airlines Group, Africa's largest airline group, has opened a state-of-the-art e-commerce logistics facility in Addis Ababa.
Located within the Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics complex, this newly built facility specializes in e-commerce, postal and courier logistics services, bridging the logistics gap and positioning Addis Ababa in Africa and the rest of the world. The aim is to position it as a cross-border e-commerce logistics hub. .
“The opening of this state-of-the-art e-commerce logistics facility is an important advancement for Ethiopian Airlines Group and the African economy as a whole,” said Mesfin Taseu, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group.
“We have introduced high-end technology into our infrastructure that will revolutionize the way goods are transported and delivered in the African e-commerce industry. Through this facility, Ethiopian Airlines will expand its e-commerce services in Ethiopia and the African continent. Paving the way to development.
“The facility, built on an area of 15,000 square meters, has a processing capacity of 150,000 tons per year. Our $55 million investment has really paid off, bringing the continent's e-commerce industry in line with global trends. I am glad that I was able to do so.”
The facility offers a wide range of services including consolidation, deconsolidation, sorting, repacking, labeling and more.
Customers can now easily track their packages from anywhere.
