Driven by economic recovery, BFSI workforce demand grew by up to 21 percent in the first four months of the year. The e-commerce sector grew by 17 percent, while the services and hospitality industry registered a growth of 13 percent, according to a report by professional networking platform Apna.
The report is based on data from the Apna platform for the years 2023 and 2024.
The report also found that southern India's job market grew 23 percent from 18 percent last year, with cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai topping the list in terms of total job openings.
Digital adoption is becoming increasingly prominent in tier 2 and 3 cities such as Lucknow, Coimbatore and Gwalior, which are seeing a surge in job openings.

The platform saw a 21 percent increase in job applications from new graduates during the reporting period compared to the previous year, and an 18 percent increase in applications from female job seekers.
According to the report, the total number of applications received during the period reached approximately 170 million, up 15 percent from the previous year.
