Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia are scheduled to face off tonight in a controversial match, with some fans and experts claiming the bout should have been called off.
Garcia's behavior outside the ring has raised concerns about his mental health, and his failure at Friday's weigh-in only reinforced the notion that the 25-year-old could have a tough time against Haney.
Haney, also 25, was 3-3 against Garcia as an American amateur, but “Dream” jumped ahead of Garcia as a pro. The undefeated Haney reigned as the undisputed lightweight champion until relinquishing the belt late last year, winning the WBC super lightweight title from Regis Prograis in December.
