Crystal Palace beat an injury-plagued and passion-less Manchester United 4-0 at Selhurst Park on Monday to move into the top six, while Erik ten Hag's Red Devils struggled to do much of anything. Hopes took another hit.
Palace had no doubt who was better on the day, with markers Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell, as well as two goals from rumored United target Michael Oliseh.

Manchester United were hit with injuries throughout the season, forcing Casemiro to play at centre-back again, but this performance showed no hope of overcoming the quality of his absence.
Ten Hag's side have 54 points, trailing Chelsea in seventh place on goal difference and two points behind Newcastle United. The Red Devils also have an FA Cup final against Manchester City, which could ultimately be their best route to Europe, which is great for a team that finished third last season.
Without Bruno Fernandes, the Red Devils have no threat.
We've often asked what Manchester United would be like without Bruno Fernandes. If Monday is any indication, the answer is going to be pretty bad.
Yes, the Red Devils were without a number of players, but Fernandes has been hugely important to the club's success this season, and his purpura in recent weeks has led the team despite some poor performances. I was able to float it.
Fernandes has missed two Premier League games this season, with Man United shut out in both of them. December's 0-0 draw at Anfield at least gave them the benefit of an away draw against better rivals, but this 4-0 defeat was largely lifeless.
Fernandes' 10 goals and seven assists in the Premier League this season account for almost a third of the Red Devils' 52 goals. The 29-year-old has dragged the Red Devils into contention for the top six, but on Monday it looked like the Red Devils didn't want to be there.
A sad state of affairs at one of the world's biggest clubs.
Crystal Palace vs Manchester United player ratings (from photomob.com)
Michael Oliseh was shocking once again, stealing the headlines with two goals from six shots, but many of Palace's players were excellent. Eberechi Eze won 12 of 18 games, and USMNT back Chris Richards had a near perfect performance as left center back, also recording an assist. Few players were likely to do well for United, but Mason Mount stood out as the fit man, making a rare start in a lost season.

Alejandro Garnacho dribbled past the top of the 18 team and took a kick from Will Hughes that sent him crashing onto the deck.

In the next chance, Rasmus Hjølund goes 50-50 with Dean Henderson and makes contact before the ball drops and crosses the line.

Mateta kept the ball in the middle, while Muñoz passed the ball to the striding Oliseh on the right.
