Healthcare leaders and the City of Asheboro are working together to advance health and wellness in Randolph County.
Greensboro – Cone Health is currently the exclusive healthcare partner of the City of Asheboro's ZooCity Sportsplex. ZooCity Sportsplex renamed as part of 25-year deal worth $5 million Cone Health Zoocity Sportsplex. The brand new multi-purpose sports park located at 2981 Zoo Parkway is located on more than 80 picturesque acres and 3 miles from the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro. 
Cone Health views this sponsorship as a visual reminder of its commitment to value-based care and the importance of prevention when it comes to health and wellness. “Developing a love of sports and exercise has lifelong benefits for a person's health,” says Dr. Mary Jo Cagle, President and CEO of Cone Health. “It makes sense that Cone Health should be by your side literally every step of the way.”

Visitors can expand their outdoor recreation opportunities through comprehensive and accessible playgrounds, fitness courts, and walking trails.
In announcing the partnership, Asheboro Mayor David H. Smith expressed the city's gratitude to Cone Health for joining the city in promoting health and athletics in Randolph County. “The City of Asheboro looks forward to beginning a long-term relationship with Cone Health.” Cone Health will support youth and adult sports for years to come. ”
Cone Health Zoocity Sportsplex is open to the public seven days a week.
