Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEitY)'s Open Network of Digital Commerce (ONDC) and Common Service Center (CSC) have partnered to make e-commerce accessible to people in rural India, MEitY said in a press release on Wednesday. Announced.
According to the release, the project will enable the integration of the CSC e-Grameen app as a buyer application into the ONDC network, giving rural Indian residents access to its extensive e-commerce network.
“We are excited to launch a new chapter in strengthening local entrepreneurship with the arrival of Common Service Centers in the ONDC network. Together, we will leverage the entrepreneurial promise of village-level entrepreneurs to increase rural incomes in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. “We believe this is the case,” said Dr. T. Cossey, ONDC's CEO.
There are two stages to collaboration. In the initial phase, CSC will act as a buyer-side platform, allowing citizens visiting the center to place orders using her e-Grameen app. A seller registered on the CSC platform will be able to accept orders via her ONDC network during the second phase.
