A Charleston e-commerce agency continues to expand with a new acquisition.
Commerce agency and Shopify Plus partner eHouse has acquired VL OMNI, a commerce data integration technology and services group, according to a news release.
eHouse recently acquired Commerce12 to expand its offerings, including paid media acquisition, retention marketing, conversion optimization, storefront management and merchant-of-record services. According to the release, the addition of VL OMNI enables eHouse to offer mid-market and large merchants the first ecosystem-native, full-service commerce solution that includes native iPaaS, ERP, EDI, marketplace connectors and consulting.
“Retailers and partners know the importance of having a single services partner that can handle the end-to-end creation, implementation and management of their commerce technology. The acquisition of VL OMNI propels us to the forefront of commerce with centralized critical infrastructure connectivity and a comprehensive suite of services,” eHouse CEO Tony Puccetti said in the release. “Our goal is to redefine the industry standard and deliver unparalleled value to customers seeking more efficient and comprehensive commerce solutions.”
Managing multiple niche agencies, systems and platforms is difficult for many organizations. As Shopify expands its capabilities and attracts more enterprise customers, integrating VL OMNI's data services will strengthen eHouse's ability to scale and support its enterprise-grade infrastructure. Through its unique technology-enabled approach and partnerships with leading platforms such as NetSuite, Microsoft and Bergen Logistics, eHouse is well-positioned to address the complex technology challenges facing enterprises, the release stated.

According to the release, VL OMNI adds innovative data integration knowledge to eHouse's commerce services. The VL OMNI platform enables seamless bidirectional data flow between different environments and adapts to the unique business rules of popular sales channels such as direct-to-consumer websites, Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart. With VL OMNI, eHouse supports a wide range of technology integrations, from traditional EDI/AS 400 merchants to over 60 connectors with popular ERP, order and warehouse management systems, with plans to further expand.
“I am excited to take on my new role at eHouse and join a larger, fast-growing company focused on delivering an unparalleled customer experience,” Robin H. Smith, former CEO and founder of VL OMNI and eHouse's newly appointed head of integrated solutions, said in the release. “Combining our cutting-edge commerce data integration services with eHouse's services will realize our vision of providing a comprehensive digital commerce service offering.”
Commerce providers need to streamline and align their sales, implementation and support processes, and eHouse's infrastructure services and end-to-end solutions combine system scoping, architecture consulting, marketing services and design and development for commerce management to enable a unique proposition, the release said.
