The CCUSD Board of Education voted unanimously on February 13, 2024 to approve the Parent Institute for Quality Training (PIQE) at La Valona Elementary School. According to the board, “PIQE helps families support their children by providing them with the knowledge and skills to work effectively with schools and communities to help students reach their full potential.” We help them engage, empower and transform their children to become active participants in their educational endeavors.”
The project, two years in the making, is a unique collaboration between La Ballona and CCUSD Adult School, which provides funding and parent education. CCUSD general funds will not be used for this effort.
Classes are available to all CCUSD parents on a first-come, first-served basis. Here are the details:
Culver City Adult School's free childcare and parent participation classes begin Tuesday, February 27th at La Valona Elementary School. The class lasts 8 weeks. Spanish classes are held on Tuesdays from 9:00am to 10:15am, and optional English support classes are held on Fridays from 9:00am to 10:15am.
English classes are held on Tuesdays from 6:00pm to 7:15pm
