Police announced Monday that a Kentucky student found unresponsive on campus this weekend was strangled to death, and the suspect arrested at the time of his death was a colleague on the Campbellsville University wrestling team.
The Campbellsville Police Department announced Monday that Campbellsville University student Josiah Kilman, 18, died of asphyxiation due to manual strangulation.
The suspect in custody in connection with the student's death, Charles Escalera, 21, is a member of the Campbellsville University wrestling team, where Kilman was a teammate, Campbellsville University spokeswoman Suzanne Grubesic said. He is said to be a member.
On Saturday, Killman was found unresponsive in his room on campus and was later pronounced dead at Taylor Regional Hospital. The school went into lockdown, but was lifted later that night after Escalera's arrest.

Campbellsville County Attorney John Bartram told CNN on Monday that Escalera is being represented by a public defender and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 6.
