KOKOMO, Indiana — Indiana University Kokomo School of Business faculty and staff honored undergraduate and graduate students for their success in the classroom at the annual awards ceremony Monday (May 6) in Havens Auditorium.
Dean Chittibabu Govindarajulu welcomed the students and guests and expressed his gratitude for the support that made their achievements possible. Faculty took the initiative to recognize outstanding student award recipients and recipients of scholarships and awards.
Alexis Peer of Kokomo was happy to commemorate her college success.
“It's definitely nice to celebrate and it's nice to actually be here and be recognized,” she said, adding that most of the 2020 high school graduation ceremonies had in-person activities due to the coronavirus. He added that there was not.
“It’s nice to have a real end to the school year,” she said.
After graduating with honors, Pia works in financial planning and marketing at Creative Financial Designs.
Ethan Wilcox of Greentown was chosen as the top student in business administration and appreciated the recognition from his faculty.
“The professors taught us well,” he said. “They helped me succeed in my studies.”
Wilcox began his career as a credit analyst at Community First Bank.
