St. Peter's Church staff receive Daisy Award
Lindsay Howie and Christine Steinke, registered nurses at St. Peter's Health Department, received the Daisy Award for Distinguished Nurse.
Daisy Award winners are selected quarterly from nominations submitted by St. Peter's Hospital patients, their families, and colleagues.
Howey works in same-day surgery, and the patients who nominated her wanted to recognize her for her dedication to their care. In one case, she even stayed half an hour after her shift ended to make sure her patients and their families had everything they needed.
“She made my stay one of the best experiences I have ever had at a hospital. I am so grateful for her consideration,” the patient wrote.
Steinke is a care manager who works at a clinic, helping critically ill patients find the resources they need and navigate the health care system.
