FBLA National Officer Teams up with Amy Lloyd
RESTON, Va., Feb. 22, 2024 (Globe Newswire) — Thousands of business and government leaders from across the country join Future Business Leaders of America, Inc. (FBLA), the nation's largest career and technical student organization. students and teachers participated. (CTSO) focused solely on business as he celebrates his 17th from February 11, 2024 as his FBLA Week. This week, he was formally recognized by the governors of at least four states, including Missouri, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, as well as the governors of many cities and counties across the United States.
A team of national high school and college executives traveled from across the country to meet with members of Congress in Washington, D.C., and to meet with Amy Lloyd, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of Education for Career, Technology, and Adult Education. They shared how FBLA has benefited them both personally and academically and asked Congress to reauthorize the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act to officially recognize FBLA as a CTSO. . Students also met with Rick Wade, senior vice president of strategic alliances and outreach at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, to discuss the important role FBLA plays as a talent pipeline for industry.
In addition, officers hosted numerous webinars throughout the week that focused on the importance of mentorship, leadership, and the transition from school to college or the workforce. Nelson joins best-selling author Scott Jeffrey Miller and six of his FBLA alumni in the fields of education, finance, military, politics, and media production to help mentor students. The FBLA chapter also raised approximately $44,000 to benefit the local community. During the week, members participated in numerous community service projects, thanked local advisors and state leaders, and focused on their future careers.
