Arne Slott will become Liverpool's next manager after a deal worth up to £9.4 million was agreed with Feyenoord.
The Dutchman is set to replace manager Jurgen Klopp, who announced in January that he would leave Anfield at the end of the 2023-24 season.
The Reds will now take steps to agree a deal for the 45-year-old before he is officially appointed.
Liverpool have agreed to pay Feyenoord £7.7m (€9m) plus additional fees of £1.7m (€2m).

Slott led Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title in 2022-23, and is on track to win the Dutch Cup and finish second in the league this season.
Slott's team's attacking style, his personality and ability to develop players are thought to be key factors in Liverpool selecting him for the job.
Slott will take over as Feyenoord manager in 2021 and confirmed his interest in managing in the Premier League when he was linked with a move to Tottenham in 2023.
Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, who led Bayer Leverkusen to their first Bundesliga title this season, has been linked with a position at Anfield.
However, the 42-year-old Spaniard ended speculation in March by announcing he would remain at Leverkusen for the foreseeable future.
Sporting Lisbon's Ruben Amorim is also reported to be a candidate to succeed manager Klopp, who has been in charge of the Reds since October 2015.
Klopp had no role in the recruitment process for his replacement, but said in a press conference on Friday that there was much to admire in the way Slot's team approached games.
“I like the way his team plays football. Everything I've heard about him is that he's a good guy,” Klopp said.
“I like it a lot. He's a good guy, a good coach and I'm looking forward to the club if he's the solution. I'm very happy, I think it's all really good.”
Asked about the job Slott would take on if he took over, Klopp said: “It's the best job in the world, the best club in the world. [Slot is] helped by [Liverpool] We didn't end up with a good result, so there is room for improvement.”
Slot route to Liverpool
Former midfielder Slott spent his entire playing career in the Netherlands, making over 100 appearances for both FC Zwolle and NAC Breda.
After retiring as an active player, he began his coaching career as a youth coach at PEC Zwolle, before moving to SC Cambul where he became assistant manager.
In 2017, he moved to AZ Alkmaar, and two years later he stepped up to become manager. In his first year in charge, the club finished level with leaders Ajax in second place on points, but the season ended early due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He was dismissed in December 2020 after it was said that he was in negotiations with Feyenoord.
Slott confirmed to ESPN on Thursday that he wants to move to Liverpool, saying: “Obviously I want to work there.”
