Loma Linda University has earned ACSM's highest level of honor, Gold Level Certification from the American College of Sports Medicine for its “Exercise is Medicine on Campus” initiative, which recognizes the university's use of exercise as a form of treatment and It has proven that it is at the forefront of improving style. .
The EIM-OC initiative promotes the use of more exercise methods to treat disease.
“This recognition shows that Loma Linda University is a leader in assessing and promoting physical activity on campus,” said Dr. Drayson Center for Health, Wellness, and Recreation Facilities Director at LLUH, MSPT Ph.D. Kimberly Knowlton said. “We are very proud to be part of this movement to make exercise the norm in improving the health and lifestyle of Loma Linda University students, faculty and staff.”
Knowlton and her team are committed to monitoring progress and achieving an ACSM Gold level rating each year. Several members of the Drayson Center team will be attending her ACSM annual conference awards ceremony on May 29 in Boston.
Knowlton said Drayson Center staff is developing new events and activities that promote healthy lifestyles, including new classes, sports competitions, and offering lifestyle and nutrition consultations.
