Amazon on Thursday unveiled a suite of new technology capabilities for Amazon Business Services, including a “unified quoting” system and a “one-stop” app hub for a range of business solutions.
In particular, the quote tool targets B2B customers who make large volume purchases, such as purchasing more than 1,000 items or placing orders totaling more than $10,000. Users can receive custom quotes from Amazon Business as well as third-party e-procurement and sourcing platforms. Quotes are centrally managed to facilitate cost analysis and bid selection.
Other new features include tools to sync users and data between Amazon Business accounts and the App Center, which serves as a “one-stop shop” for more than 25 applications with shopping, analytics and management capabilities.
Amazon Business also introduced new features for budgeting and guided buying tools, which now provide a toolbar for customers to establish approval processes and select products with sustainability certifications.
“We're not just responding to the biggest challenges our customers tell us about,” Shelley Salomon, vice president of Amazon Business Worldwide, said in a statement. “We're getting ahead of the curve with new technology to help our customers leverage their resources to weather the unexpected and continue to scale their businesses.”
