It was a very chaotic night at American Family Field on Tuesday.
Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Abner Uribe and Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri were ejected from the Brewers' 8-2 victory after throwing punches during a scuffle that broke out in the eighth inning. Peralta, Uribe, Siri sue them suspension. Murphy's suspension will begin with Wednesday's game.
The main incident broke out in the 8th inning, with both benchers being ejected shortly after. Siri grounded out to start the inning, and Uribe caught Rhys Hoskins' toss to take the lead.
However, the daily routine of play soon fell apart. Uribe, who was waiting in front of her bag for Siri to arrive, walked right in front of Siri and said something to him. The situation quickly escalated and the scene became incredibly chaotic, with punches being thrown.
It is unclear what triggered the incident, but it escalated quickly. And given the punches thrown, punishment is likely.
“We're glad no one was seriously injured,” Murphy said. via Bally Sports Wisconsin. “There's a lot of emotion in the game… Things happen between people. I don't know all the history. What I do know is that it's better not to say anything. only.”
That incident occurred just two innings after Murphy and Peralta were ejected from the game. In the 6th inning, with the count 3-0, Peralta was hit by Siri with a pitch and was raised. This provoked Murphy, and the referee quickly ejected the two from the game after Murphy stormed out of the dugout.
Despite the circumstances, the Brewers won with little trouble. They increased their lead to 3-0 after the second inning, and in the fifth inning, Willie Adames hit a three-run homer to make it 6-1.
With this win, the Brewers snapped a three-game losing streak and currently have a record of 18 wins and 11 losses. Wednesday will end a three-game series against the Rays, who are 14-17.
