TAYLORSVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — There are only a few days left to register for the Christian County Health Department's 2nd Annual Food Safety Workshop on March 27th.
This workshop will feature speakers from several county health departments and the Illinois Department of Public Health who will discuss topics related to food safety. Anyone who currently runs a restaurant or those who want to open a restaurant in the future are welcome to participate.
There are two sessions: 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm. It will be held at the University of Illinois Extension Office, 1120 North Webster Street in Taylorville.
High-risk facilities participating in this workshop can be exempted from the final inspection of this year, as long as they are in good standing from the previous inspection.
“It is important that we continue to learn how to best protect the public from foodborne illness,” said Christian County Public Health Administrator Dr. Chad Anderson. “This workshop is a great way for food establishments to learn how to protect the public and explore new and updated policies and improvements. The Christian County Health Department is committed to helping food establishments expand their knowledge and provide educational resources. We are committed to helping make this happen.”
