Sierra Canyon (29-1) and Etiwanda (27-3) remain on a collision course for the Southern Section Open Division Girls Basketball Championship. They won their pool and are one win away from qualifying for the finals next Friday at California Baptist.
On Wednesday, Sierra Canyon defeated Sage Hill 74-52, with Jerzy Robinson scoring 28 points and Isela Arenas scoring 21 points. The Trail Blazers' next game was Saturday's home game against Mater Dei, where they defeated Orangewood Academy 65-48 by 23 points over Jenessa Cotton. The winner of Saturday's match will advance to the Open Division final.
Etiwanda defeated Bishop Montgomery 80-43 and will play Ontario Christian on Saturday to determine the other finalist. Kennedy Smith scored 19 points and Ariyana Morris added 16 points. Christian, Ont., defeated Corona Centennial with an 86-48 win from freshman Carina Smith, who scored 35 points.
Brentwood 77, Linwood 57: The Eagles advance to the Division 1 semifinals and will face Orange Lutheran, which defeated Oxnard 60-47. Joselyn Pascual scored 23 points for Brentwood.
Harvard-Westlake 50, Redondo Union 47: The Wolverines advance to the Division 1 semifinals and will face Corona Santiago. Deanna Thompson scored 22 points and Angelina Javis added 20 points.
Louisville 53, Chino 44: Top-seeded Louisville won in the 2A quarterfinals and will face rival Sherman Oaks-Notre Dame in the semifinals. The Knights defeated Shadow Hills 70-60. Eva Van Lokeren scored 18 points for Louisville.

Birmingham 6, Rock 0: Anthony Najafi contributed four goals to the Patriots' first victory in the City Section Division I playoffs.
Granada Hills 1, King/Drew 0: The top-seeded Highlanders held on to an early goal to earn the Division I victory.
El Camino Real 7, Sun Valley Poly 0: For El Camino Real, Eric Babadas and Jonathan Rabinovic each scored two goals.
Contreras 2, Middle College 0: The No. 1 seed in Division IV won the opening game.

La Salle 4, Arcadia 0: For La Salle, Dave Maiza hit a home run and the two pitchers combined for a shutout victory.
Corona Santiago 8, Northview 0: Freshman pitcher Ben Lewis had 10 strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings for Santiago.
Chaminade 4, Sun Valley Poly 0: Adam Batmanian pitched five innings against Chaminade, with seven strikeouts and a shutout (2-0). Isaiah Hahn, Ryan Silver and Greg Rangel each had two hits.
women's water polo
Orange Lutheran 7, Newport Harbor 6: The Lancers' undefeated season continued, but they barely made it to the Open Division semifinals. The Lancers improved to 24-0. Orange Lutheran will face Mater Dei in the final. Mater Dei defeated Foothill 10-5.
