TWIN FALLS, ID (KMVT/KSVT) — Attending craft fairs and markets is something people look forward to all year long, and a boutique in Twin Falls lets people pick up unique handmade items year-round. I am making it possible to put it in.
This week on “Behind the Business,” we introduce Canyon Rim Craft and Boutique.
“It's like being on Etsy, but you can actually see the products in person, and you don't have to wait for them to ship,” says owner Annie Aguilar.
At Canyon Rim Craft and Boutique, owner Annie Aguilar wanted to create a unique store that would be beneficial to both sellers and shoppers.
“Right now we have about 25 local vendors here, and now we have over 40. They oscillate a little bit depending on what their needs are and what our needs are.” said Aguilar.
Almost everything in the store is handmade and includes custom shirts, custom tumblers, blankets, jewelry, artwork from local artists, stickers, hand-stitched items, and more.
Freeze-dried candy is also available, and many items can be customized on the spot.
“We have rent and fees, so they help pay a portion of the rent. And we use a few percent of that to cover store costs like utilities and employee costs. That's great. It means the vendor doesn't have to be at the booth all the time while we're responding,” Aguilar said.
The store opened in October 2022 and has continued to grow steadily, with people visiting the store looking for souvenirs from outside the state and people looking for gifts.
She says this has been her dream since she was a little girl attending craft and vendor markets with her mother.
“I don’t think there’s a store like us anywhere else in the world,” he says, “in terms of how we combine a variety of operations that we handcraft on site, as well as working with local vendors. I feel like we have a pretty unique concept,” Aguilar said.
Canyon Rim Craft and Boutique is located inside the Magic Valley Mall next to Hobby Lobby and is open during the same hours as the mall.
A spring vendor event will be held at Magic Valley Mall on March 9th and 10th, featuring stores and other vendors.
