Former world champion Shaun Murphy withdrew from the Welsh Open after losing in the first round to fellow Briton Barry Pinches for a spot in the final.
Pinches, 53, was called up late for this tournament and needed snooker for the final spot, but he advanced 4-3 against the 2020 Welsh Open champion.
The result means Murphy will miss next week's Players Championship in Telford, which he won last year.

Welshman Jones made breaks of 72, 136 and 70 to take a 3-2 lead, but Milkins fought back to advance again by a 4-3 margin.
