When it comes to the Super Bowl, it turns out Taylor Swift's biggest challenge is getting to the game on time from Tokyo. As for us Founded earlier this weekSwift, who will be performing in Japan on February 10th, will have plenty of time to get to Las Vegas for her big game, thanks to the magic of International Dateline.
Since getting to Las Vegas doesn't seem to be a problem for Swift, her biggest problem may be parking the plane. In perhaps the biggest first world problem that has ever existed, all parking spaces for private planes in Las Vegas are now reserved. According to the Associated Press.
There are four airports in the immediate vicinity of Las Vegas, and each of those four airports has a total of 475 parking spaces, and every single one of those spaces is important as we prepare for Super Bowl week.
Harry Reid International Airport is Las Vegas' main hub. If you fly commercially to the Super Bowl, you're almost guaranteed to get there. The city has several small, upscale airports, one in North Las Vegas and one in Henderson, but they are booked for Super Bowl weekend.
The problem for Swift is that the Super Bowl isn't the only sporting event happening in the city during big game weeks. LIV Golf is holding a tournament at the Las Vegas Country Club, and the Saudi-backed golf tour may have reserved some parking spaces for the event. The only upside for the Swifts is that the tournament ends Saturday and there's a good chance not everyone wants to stay in the Super Bowl. That means some space may become available.
Assuming she flies directly from Tokyo after her Feb. 10 concert, Swift is expected to arrive in Las Vegas late Saturday night after the LIV tournament ends, but that doesn't guarantee her a spot.
Of course, this is Taylor Swift we're talking about, so there's a good chance someone will make something of it.
Michael Giordano, a partner at Cirrus Aviation Services, which has several spaces in Las Vegas, told the New York Post that the Swift definitely has a place to land.
“Taylor Swift is definitely going to get a spot in the NFL, but that doesn't necessarily mean she's going to get a parking spot,” Giordano said.
This is a so-called “drop-and-go” flight, in which Swift and her crew would be dropped off in Las Vegas, but the plane would have to fly to an airport outside Las Vegas to park. As the NFL works with the FAA and local officials in preparation for Super Bowl week, the league almost certainly has the authority to find a landing spot for Swift, but an NFL spokesperson responded to questions from The Associated Press. However, individual requests were not confirmed.
The most likely scenario here is that Swift's private jet drops her off in Las Vegas and then parks her somewhere else. At that point, Swift will be attending the game and hanging out with Travis Kelce after the Super Bowl, so it's likely she won't need the jet again until she heads to Australia for her next concert. . Swift is scheduled to tour in Melbourne on February 16th, so she'll likely be heading down to the Lower Lands on February 13th, and theoretically her jet will be at Los Angeles or another airport until then. There is a possibility that it will remain.
