Mayor Eric Adams and Schools Superintendent David C. Banks announce the opening of the official submission period for the 4th New York City Minecraft Educational Battle of the Boroughs (BOTB) in advance of the 2nd Annual BOTB Mayor's Cup . Student team submissions are currently being accepted and will close on March 1, 2024. Information on how to participate in the challenge is available on the New York City Public Schools website. The top entries will compete in in-person Esports qualifying rounds in each borough.
BOTB, once again in partnership with Minecraft Education and C40's Reinventing Cities initiative, is a K-12 academic esports competition aimed at engaging the youngest New Yorkers in shaping the future of their cities. Based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), PlaNYC: Getting Sustainability Done (GSD), the City's Strategic Climate Plan, and the Mayor's Digital Gaming Initiative, student teams created the most inclusive future-ready urban spaces. compete to create. By participating in this challenge, students will be able to explore her five boroughs, “talk” to local officials, and learn more about New York City's sustainability plans.
