It's now 7 p.m. in Nevada, and polling places are closed across the state. Here's what you need to know about Tuesday's primary election
From CNN's Ethan Coen
Voting in Nevada currently closes at 7 p.m. Pacific Time (10 p.m. Eastern Time). Here's what's important to know about Tuesday's primary.
On the Democratic side, President Joe Biden is on the ballot with several other candidates, including Marianne Williamson, and a “none of these candidates” option. Rep. Dean Phillips won't be on the ballot because he entered the presidential race after the state's filing deadline. The Nevada Democratic Party will allocate delegates based on the results of Tuesday's primary election, with 36 delegates at stake.
On the Republican side, state-driven presidential primaries will be held, but will not affect the allocation of state delegates to the Republican National Convention. These delegates will be awarded based on the results of the party's caucus held on Thursday. There are 26 delegates at stake in the caucus.
Donald Trump is the only major Republican candidate on the caucus ballot. Republican rival Nikki Haley is the only major candidate on Tuesday's primary ballot, with a “none of these candidates” option. Nevada Republican Party rules prevent candidates from participating in both contests, but voters can vote in both contests.
Trump faces no serious opposition to win the state's 26 delegates in the caucuses.
