FedEx Corp. will double the size of its facility in Clark, Pampanga as part of a strategic expansion aimed at giving Philippine companies greater access to global markets.
The move, formalized through an agreement with the Luzon International Airport Development Corporation (LIPAD), demonstrates FedEx's commitment to Southeast Asia's growing e-commerce and logistics industry.
The expanded facility will meet the burgeoning demand for e-commerce fulfillment, freight and cold chain transportation across the Asia Pacific region.
This will improve access to international markets and directly benefit Philippine businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises and heavy cargo shippers.
FedEx’s expansion is in line with the vision of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), Clark Development Corporation (CDC) and LIPAD to transform Clark International Airport (CRK) into a leading global air logistics hub.
The expansion will include additional infrastructure such as aprons and taxiways, streamlining FedEx operations and stimulating growth across the logistics division.
This is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the Northern Luzon region.
“Since our establishment in the Philippines in 1984, we have been committed to continuously enhancing our network and service offerings to meet the growing needs of our customers and strengthen our connections to overseas markets,” said Maribeth Espinosa, managing director, FedEx Philippines.
“This expansion is a testament to our strong commitment to facilitating cross-border trade and optimizing the country's supply chain capabilities,” Espinosa said.
