Air Accounting said in a statement last week that it has partnered with e-commerce accountants Bean Ninjas in a bid to diversify its professional services.
The Sydney startup, whose growth strategy revolves around acquiring and partnering with niche accountancy practices, called the deal a “significant milestone”.
Director Sean Stubley praised Bean Ninjas founder Merrill Johnston, saying her insight and networks in the e-commerce industry placed her at the top of the company's list of desirable partners.
“We are pleased to have such a respected figure in the accounting industry working with us to build the next generation of finance team for an e-commerce company looking to grow,” he said.
Bean Ninjas provides accounting, compliance, CFO and advisory services to seven and eight figure online businesses looking to scale across Australia, the US and the UK.
Johnston said the partnership with Air Accounting will allow him to focus on marketing and business development.
“I spent a lot of time searching for the right accounting firm to partner with. I wanted a team I could trust to not only provide accurate accounting advice but also deliver a great experience for my clients,” she said.
“A partner that can scale rapidly so you can focus on what you do best.”
The partnership with Bean Ninjas follows the acquisition of hospitality specialist accounting firm Cafe Bookkeepers last year.
Stubley spoke about Air Accounting's growth strategy in August, naming e-commerce, healthcare, technology and construction as the next industries to focus on to build a diversified brand.
“While many accounting firms may have one brand that is intended to appeal to everyone, we believe there should be separate brands that appeal to different industries and client groups so that their needs are adequately addressed,” he said.
