Limitless Agency, one of the largest digital marketing agencies in Romania, achieved a record turnover of 445 million euros with online stores in its portfolio. This allowed the company to cover more than 6% of the total value of the local e-commerce market, estimated to reach 7 billion euros in 2023, excluding services, utility payments, digital content and air tickets, holidays and travel, hotel reservations, tickets for shows and various events, etc. If these segments are also taken into account, the total value will exceed 10 billion euros.
The company has a portfolio of around 400 online stores representing several market segments and manages an annual marketing budget of more than 40 million euros. The local e-commerce market has reached its highest level and, according to estimates, is set to continue growing by around 10% in 2024 compared to 2023.
“E-commerce in Romania maintains an upward trend year-on-year, mainly due to the increasing number of online stores opening and the fall in inflation. Romanians are increasingly shopping online, but the market is also becoming more competitive, which makes digital marketing strategies such as SEO and PPC campaigns essential for market positioning. The results obtained in 2023 show that the digital marketing strategies implemented by our team for the online stores in our portfolio had a significant impact, which became the main driver of sales. At the same time, they directly contributed to the consolidation of the e-commerce market at a national level,” said Daniel Slavenije, CEO and Partner at Limitless Agency.
The company ended last year with sales of 4.25 million euros, up 30% on the previous year.
What Romanians order online: the most purchased items
In 2023, Romanians most frequently purchased electrical appliances and home appliances, clothing, cosmetics and services, with more than 2 million transactions taking place in stores where Limitless Agency managed their digital marketing campaigns.
The highest average value of online orders were in tourism (6,500 RON), IT&C (over 1,200 RON), industry (790 RON), healthcare (770 RON), pharmaceuticals (700 RON), fashion (583 RON) and sports (562 RON). According to Limitless' internal data, the online segments with the highest average online conversion rates were the beauty industry (5.14%), jewelry (2.56%), food (2.43%), gifts (2.27%), books (1.87%), automotive (1.69%), sports (1.5%) and fashion (1.24%).
With the increase in their client’s online sales, Limitless Agency has been recognized by Google, specifically, receiving a Gold certification from Google for their outstanding performance in optimizing the Eden Boutique online store and increasing revenue by approximately 50% after implementing the most effective digital marketing tactics.
Limitless Agency was awarded first place in the Best Use of Performance Max for Retail category at the Google Search Excellence Awards 2023 for the series of results it delivered to the Eden Boutique online store, including a 35% increase in conversions, a 47% increase in revenue, a 9% increase in return on investment, and a 93% increase in clicks in 2023 compared to the previous year.
