Gautam Adani-led Adani Group is reportedly considering entering the e-commerce and digital payments business, leveraging its name recognition from its other businesses in the country.
According to reports, Adani Group plans to apply for a license to operate on India's public digital payments network, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), and is also finalizing its previously announced co-branded credit card.
Adani's e-commerce business
The Gautam Adani-led company also plans to develop its online shopping business through the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). It has launched a consumer app, Adani One, in 2022. Once these developments are complete, the services will be available on the app.
