RENO, Nev. (COLO) – Business owners who recently left the Reno Public Market say they were forced out by the property's high rents.
Sara Reynosa, owner of Fuego Street Tacos, said that when she raised her concerns with RPM management here, she was told that the business was being mismanaged. She says that's not the case.
Reynosa said, “The rent is too high and I can no longer make ends meet, so I'm moving out.'' “We're here 24/7. We've laid off staff. We're finding and shopping the best deals on groceries. We're doing everything we can to keep costs down. ”
Reynosa said RPM management's suggestion was to raise prices so her company could pay the rent.
RPM issued a statement today in response to business owners who have announced they are exiting or closing their businesses. “The reality in retail, restaurant and hospitality is that retailer sales are part of a normal, even healthy, business cycle as consumers grow.” clarify what is being done.
