Although our field has made great strides in addressing inequities in medicine and health care, there is still more work to be done. Led by the AHA Community Health Improvement (ACHI) Network and AHA's Institute for Diversity and Health Equity (IFDHE), this gathering will share successes and challenges, learn from each other, and recommit to the important work of improving society. We offer great opportunities. The health and well-being of everyone in our community.
I look forward to attending this year's conference. We have a great lineup of plenary speakers, breakout sessions, intensive experiences, and more. Sessions throughout the conference will cover a variety of important topics, including building and sustaining community partnerships; Understand and respond to the complex health and social needs of individuals. Build diverse leadership and governance teams. Build a fair and inclusive workplace. The community immersion experience takes participants to Kansas City neighborhoods to visit local organizations and see community health improvement efforts.
The problems we face in healthcare are so complex that no single hospital or health system, no matter how well-resourced or organized, can solve them alone. By working with community partners, we can together drive change and accelerate health equity.
