A scrolling banner with the phrase “WE CARE Everywhere” is waiting for its chance to shine on social media posts all summer long. The retractable banner is small enough to fit in your suitcase, perfect for conference trips, study abroad experiences, vacations, staycations, on-campus, or other summer adventures.
WE CARE, an acronym for Wellness and Education Commitment to Arkansas Excellence, is committed to advancing impactful research, creating meaningful partnerships, and empowering caring professionals in education and health across Arkansas and beyond. is centered on caring for all communities.
The WE CARE Everywhere campaign officially launched on May 3 at the university's year-end conference. “We hope to see the WE CARE banner raised in Arkansas, across the nation and around the world this summer,” said Dean Kate Mamiseishvili. “We are excited to see our colleagues, students, and alumni spread the word about how much we care.”
Members of the University community, friends, and alumni are encouraged to take a photo with the banner while out and about this summer and post it on social media. They are asked to tag their university (@uacoehp on Instagram, Twitter/X, and Facebook) and use the hashtag #WECAREeverywhere.
Kathy Pillow-Price, managing director of the university's outreach program Early Care and Education Project (ECEP), was the first to receive the banner so she could take it with her when presenting at academic conferences in Canada. Ms Price and her family posed for photos with the banner before a whale watching trip and at the Britannia Mining Museum.
She said the photo shoot prompted questions from onlookers.
“I think the WE CARE Everywhere campaign will help promote the fact that our universities and those at ECEP are directly improving people’s lives,” she said. “For ECEP, this extends our efforts to educate, connect, and equip early childhood professionals in meaningful partnerships across the state to improve the quality of care and education for young children across Arkansas. I believe in the WE CARE initiative's potential to propel our university to greater impact within our state and beyond. ”
