Rosendale second-grade teacher Lynn Altham and secretary Jean Merchant received the Eastern Wisconsin Teaching Excellence Award for their hard work and accomplishments in the Rosendale-Brandon School District.
Twenty-four school districts in eastern Wisconsin have partnered with WFRV Channel 5 to recognize outstanding school employees.
“We are thrilled that both Lynn and Gene are receiving this public recognition,” said Heidi Owens, principal of Rosendale and Brandon Elementary Schools. “Both of them go above and beyond every day and bring so much joy to our school. They always put the children first and are willing to work together to help all children succeed. To do.”
Alsum and Merchant, who have been with the Rosendale-Brandon School District for 31 and 37 years, respectively, will be recognized at a ceremony on Saturday, May 18, at the Kiel Area School District Performing Arts Center. The program will be live-streamed at www.wearegreenbay.com.
This recognition program allows parents, students, community members, and faculty to nominate deserving school personnel in the following categories:
➤ Innovation at work (How have employees demonstrated innovation in their workplace?)
➤ Culture creators in the work environment (how have employees gone above and beyond in creating a positive school culture?);
➤ Social/Emotional Well-being (What impact did the employee have on the social/emotional well-being of the students and/or the school environment?);
➤ Community involvement (What positive impact has the employee had on the community?)
➤ Connection with students (in what ways has the employee developed positive relationships with students?).
After the nomination deadline, a panel of judges reviewed the nominations and determined the finalists. These finalists were asked to elaborate on the work outlined in their nomination. The judges then selected winners in each of her five categories.
