Tahlequah – Northeastern State University will recognize graduates at its Spring 2024 Graduation Ceremony on May 10, 11 and 13.
The NSU Oklahoma College of Optometry ceremony will be held at the NSU Performing Arts Center in Tahlequah on Friday, May 10th at 4 p.m.
The Greg Wadley College of Science and Health Professions ceremony will be held at the NSU Event Center in Tahlequah on Friday, May 10th at 6:30 p.m.
Ceremonies will continue at the NSU Event Center on Saturday, May 11, with the College of Education's commencement ceremony at 9:30 a.m. and the College of Business & Technology and College of Liberal Arts ceremonies at 1:30 p.m.
The ceremony, open to all NSU-Broken Arrow students, will be held at the ORU Mabee Center in Tulsa on Monday, May 13 at 6:30 p.m.
Greeting graduates and guests will be Lauren Montgomery, Class of 2023, Sarah Hill, Class of 2023, and Andrea Tucker, Class of 2024 NSU Centurion.
Montgomery earned a bachelor's degree in special education from NSU in 2000. After finding success in football at NSU, he joined the Jenks Trojans football team for which he held numerous coaching roles for 10 seasons. Montgomery currently serves as the head football coach for the Bixby Spartans and has led the team to multiple state championships.
Mr. Montgomery will deliver the commencement address at the Greg Wadley College of Science and Health Professions on Friday, May 10th.
Hill graduated from NSU in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in public administration. Earlier this spring, Hill was sworn in as a U.S. District Court judge for the Northern District of Oklahoma. Previously, he served as Cherokee Nation Attorney General and Cherokee Nation Secretary of Natural Resources.
Hill is scheduled to speak at the School of Education ceremony on May 11, as well as the School of Business & Technology and College of Liberal Arts ceremonies.
Ms. Tucker attended NSU Broken Arrow in 2003 as a first-generation college student. She currently manages her own practice as Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tucker is an active member of the NSU College of Business & Technology Advisory Board.
Mr. Tucker is scheduled to speak at the NSU and Broken Arrow ceremonies on May 13th.
Guests are welcome to attend each ceremony. NSU also plans to livestream the graduation ceremony for the families and friends of graduates who cannot attend in person.
