WILLMAR — There will be a lot of proclamations at the May 7 Kandiyohi County Board meeting.
Boards are being asked to declare May as both Mental Health Month and Foster Care Appreciation Month, with May 9th being Child Mental Health Awareness Day and May 10th being Child Care Provider Appreciation Day. is declared.
The declaration is made in conjunction with a presentation by the Kandiyohi County Department of Health and Human Services regarding mental health services and foster care in the county. There will also be presentations from the Forest Center and United Community Action Partnership's Parent Support Outreach Program.
The county board meeting begins at 9 a.m. May 7 in the board room of the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services Building in Willmar.
Also on the agenda is discussion and approval of the 2024 Community Crime Intervention and Prevention grant contract and bid award for the reconstruction of County Road 7 from Minnesota Route 7 to Route 12 west of Pennock. and awarded bids for 2024 bituminous paving projects, including the overlay of County Roads 23 and 5, the county courthouse and Spicer's Salisbury Beach parking lot.
