Selena Gomez is doing her part to raise awareness about mental health.
On Wednesday, May 1st, Murder inside the building only The 31-year-old star hosted a special event and provided resources on issues close to her heart.
Gomez posted on Instagram Carousel: “As we host the 3rd annual @rarebeauty Mental Health Summit, I am inspired by the next generation, filled with so much hope, and grateful to everyone who has joined me on this meaningful journey. I would like to go home with gratitude,” she added in the caption.
In the first photo, Gomez stood in front of a wall decorated with facts about the organization, including a post that said $7 million was raised for the company in 2023 alone.
“Mental health is extremely important to me and I am honored to share this mission with the world together. Thank you to everyone who has joined us and continues to use their voices for good. ♥️♥️,” her caption continued.
Other images showed Gomez speaking with the US Surgeon General, Lt. Gen. Vivek Murthy, who also shared a summary of the event on social media.
“Honored to join my friend @SelenaGomez for @rarebeauty's Mental Health Summit,” he wrote.

During the event, she gave a speech to attendees, revealing that she was inspired to take part in the “darkest moment of my life.”
“I struggled with the world inside my head for a long time, and at times felt lost and hopeless. Then in 2020, I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I can't be honest. , everything changed immediately,” Gomez said.
“I actually got the knowledge and answers that I had been craving for a long time. And in understanding it, obviously I became more aware of it and I was less afraid of it than I was before.” .”
