For the second consecutive evaluation period, all four UVA Health medical centers earned an “A” rating for hospital safety from the Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit organization that evaluates the quality of patient care.
The UVA Health hospitals that received the highest scores in Leapfrog's Spring 2024 Hospital Safety Grade are:
- UVA Health University Medical Center, Charlottesville
- UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center
- UVA Health Haymarket Medical Center
- UVA Health Prince William Medical Center, Manassas

Hospital safety ratings are based on patient safety metrics and the systems hospitals have in place to protect patients and ensure they receive the best care.
