Five hospitals received an “A” rating. RWJUH Hamilton records highest increase
West Orange, NJ, May 1, 2024 – RWJBarnabas' five medical facilities have earned a Hospital Safety Score rating of “A” from the Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit organization operated by employers and other large health insurance purchasers. A-rated hospitals include Community Medical Center (CMC) in Toms River, Monmouth Medical Center (MMC) in Long Branch, Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (MMCSC) in Lakewood, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Hamilton, and RWJUH Rahway. .
RWJUH Hamilton experienced the largest increase at RWJBarnabas Health, raising its score from a “C” to an “A” grade. This was his sixth consecutive “A” rating for RWJUH Rahway and his third consecutive “A” rating for CMC and MMCSC. MMC has received an “A” in 18 of its past 19 ratings after dropping to a “B” last fall. Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (CBMC) in Livingston has increased its rating from a “C” to a “B.” Jersey City Medical Center and his RWJUH Somerset also received a “B” rating.
