Batavia, Ohio – This week, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown's (D-Ohio) staff hosted a roundtable discussion at VFW Post 9630 in Batavia to discuss health care for veterans harmed by exposure to toxic substances during their military service. Ta.Brown's bipartisan policy would make veterans eligible for expanded care Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson keeps his promise to address the Comprehensive Toxic Substances (PACT) Act of 2022.. Brown and his staff have hosted his 39 roundtables and events across Ohio to raise awareness and help veterans access this care. Miami County veterans met with Anthony Eliopoulos, an outreach staff member in Brown's office who specializes in veterans affairs and holds the rank of captain in the U.S. Army National Guard.
“This legislation represents the most comprehensive expansion of medical care for veterans facing toxic exposure in our nation's history.” said Brown. “We are working to disseminate information to veterans across Ohio. If you were exposed to toxins while serving our country, you deserve the benefits you earned. .Without exception.
The bill is named after Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson, a Central Ohio veteran who was exposed to the burn scars during a year-long deployment to Iraq in 2006 and died of lung cancer in 2020 at age 39.
