The only team tournament of the season begins Thursday in New Orleans, where the 2024 Zurich Classic will be held. Former champions Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele will headline the 2024 Zurich Classic, which includes five of the top 15 players in the Official World Golf Ranking. Cantlay and Schauffele won the event in 2022, and the latest odds for the 2024 Zurich Classic place them as 5-1 favorites to win.
Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry (8-1) are also among the favorites scheduled to tee off Thursday at TPC Louisiana. Defending champion Nick Hardy and Davis Riley are among the big names to watch at 80-1. Our unique model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been gaining traction since the PGA Tour restarted in June 2020. In fact, this model has gained more than $9,000 in top bets since its relaunch and has been successful tournament after tournament.
McClure's model correctly predicted that Scottie Scheffler would finish at the top of the leaderboard at this season's 2024 Masters, Arnold Palmer Invitational, Players Championship, and RBC Heritage. McClure also included Hideki Matsuyama in his best bet to win the 2024 Genesis Invitational. That bet reached +9000, McClure's highest bet of the entire tournament and he returned nearly $1,000.
The model also predicted Jon Rahm to win the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and American Express. At the 2023 Masters, the model for Rahm's second career major victory was in full circulation heading into the weekend. Rahm entered the third round two strokes off the lead, but the model still predicted him to be the winner. This is the model's second consecutive victory at the Masters, and Schaeffler's 2022 victory is also confirmed.
Additionally, McClure's best bets include Nick Taylor (70-1) winning the 2023 RBC Canadian Open and Jason Day (17-1) winning the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson. and Rickie Fowler (14-1), who finished in first place. 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic Leaderboard.
This same model had a whopping 11 successful matches in majors going into the weekend, making it to the Masters for the third year in a row. Anyone who has practiced this has made huge profits.

Top predictions for the 2024 Zurich Classic
One of the big surprises this model is conjuring for Zurich Classic 2024 is that McIlroy and Lowry, who have a combined 26 wins on the PGA Tour, will barely finish in the top five. McIlroy will tee off at TPC Louisiana, making his fourth consecutive appearance. After failing to finish in the top 10 in seven of his eight starts on the PGA Tour this season, Lowry has finished T-19 or worse in six of his past eight tournaments.
Both players have struggled on the greens this season. McIlroy will compete in the 2024 Zurich Classic, ranking 78th in Strokes Gained: Putting (0.119) and 72nd in Putting Average (1.758), which ranks 98th in Points Averaged (70.44). This is the reason. Lowry, on the other hand, ranks 99th in Strokes Gained: Putts (-0.012) and 143rd in Putts Per Round (29.38), so his chances of finishing at the top of the leaderboard this week aren't great.
Another surprise will be Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor making a strong run towards the title with long shots of 40-1. They have a much better chance of winning it all than the odds suggest, so they are a target for those looking for big paychecks. Although neither are top players on the PGA Tour, they are solid professionals who make for a dangerous duo in this team event.
Taylor has won four tournaments on the PGA Tour and currently ranks 21st in Strokes Gained: Approach to Green (0.528). Meanwhile, Hadwin ranks 26th in drive accuracy (69.21%) and 12th in average birdies (4.49). Both are great putters and will definitely come in handy this week against TPC Louisiana. Hadwin ranks 23rd in putting average (1.723), while Taylor ranks 19th in putting strokes gained (0.522) and seventh in one-putt percentage (44.74%). Find out who else to choose here.
