Police said the suspect and victim knew each other. The victim is safe.
A kidnapping suspect was arrested in Oregon after a home security camera showed footage of a woman being taken away against her will.
Hillsboro police announced Tuesday that the victim was found safe. Police said the suspect and victim knew each other and it was not a random attack.
The video, seen by ABC News, was shot on Sunday around 10:45 p.m. A woman wearing glasses rings the doorbell and appears to be waiting for someone to answer.
Police believe a bearded man approached her and tried to take her away against her will. Police said in a bulletin that included screen captures of the woman and man from the video that the woman was “picked up by the man pictured above and she was screaming for her help before being taken away.”
Police said it appears they left in a white pickup truck.
Police said they were alerted to the suspected kidnapping on Monday morning and released images of the suspect and victim in hopes of getting the public's help.
By Tuesday morning, police said they had identified the suspect and victim and took the suspect into custody.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, is charged with kidnapping, police said.
