Two of the founding partners of the Global Sports University Network (GSUN), the University of Oregon and Loughborough University in the UK, met to discuss the inaugural summit.
GSUN is a collection of universities from around the world that use sports knowledge to solve timely and complex problems. We combine research, faculty insights, and student energy to tackle topics that no university can fully address alone.
At its September summit on the Oregon campus, the network will address the theme of inclusivity in sports performance, focusing on para-athletes, aging, gender, sexuality and mental health.

The University of Oregon visit was made as part of a broader global engagement visit to the United States by Professor Nick Jennings, President and Vice-Chancellor of Loughborough University. The delegation met with key representatives from education, industry and sport to build and strengthen the University's strategic global partnerships and explore new opportunities to collaborate. We have also hosted a number of alumni events to celebrate and connect Loughborough's international community. The delegation visited Texas, Illinois, Oregon, New York, and Florida.
