Kentucky's new head coach Mark Pope You probably aren't getting much sleep right now. The former Utah Valley and BYU head coach is back at his alma mater and doing a lot. Kentucky will have to build its roster from the ground up and continue to hire its coaching staff.
Kentucky could be one step closer to filling out its roster this weekend. The basketball program is currently hosting an official visit from Amari Williams, who transferred to Drexel. During the trip to Lexington, Kentucky took Williams to Keeneland as spring competition was starting.
While at the track, Pope jumped in front of the cameras and gave an interview with TVG. The new head coach traveled to Keeneland.
“This is a great honor and I am very excited.” Pope told TVG. “I feel like I've come home. I'm hooked on this job and enjoying every second of it.”
“I'm not really sure what to say, but we're here on business. So we're trying to get some work done.”
The job is a type of recruitment. Kentucky is looking to sign Amari Williams this weekend. The Cats hope the trip to Keeneland will be the finishing touch for Sunday to wrap things up.
