The Geneva Garden Club, which recently celebrated its 95th anniversary, will award six scholarships in May.

The Geneva Garden Club will invite six Geneva High School seniors or current college students at its next meeting on Tuesday, May 7th at 11 a.m. at the Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center, 3507 Canneville Road, Geneva. A total of $13,000 in scholarships will be awarded.
Eligible students must reside in Geneva or the 60134 zip code and be pursuing education in horticulture, landscaping, environmental sustainability, Master Gardener certification, or a closely related field.
The scholarship recipients are:
• Marcella Anderson plans to attend Indiana University in the fall to study sustainable business and marketing.
• Morgan Curran, a freshman at Purdue University, is currently studying horticulture with a focus on landscape design.
• Amelia Kellen, a freshman at the University of Michigan studying environmental studies and urban planning with a focus on sustainability.
• Audrey Matthews, a senior who plans to attend the University of Illinois in the fall to study environmental science.
• Mia Rogalski, a third-year Loyola University student currently studying environmental science and conservation and restoration ecology.
• Rolando Sorrentino, a senior who plans to attend Purdue University in the fall to study engineering with an interest in the environment.
