The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation has named Conroe ISD the recipient of its 12th annual Music Education Outstanding Community Award.th time.
“I would like to thank the Board of Directors for their support of the fine arts sector that makes this opportunity possible,” said CISD Fine Arts Director Dr. Bob Horton. “We are one of 112 districts in Texas to earn this honor, ranking in the top 10% of the state, and one of only a few districts to have received this award for more than 10 years. That's one.”
“We truly appreciate the value that our music educators bring not only to our children and schools, but to our entire community,” said board member Datren Williams. “Arts and music have always been part of what shapes us, enriches our children, and makes great communities and school districts. It would not have been possible without hard work, dedication and a lot of love.”
The Best Communities for Music Education Award is the NAMM Foundation's signature program that supports and commits to music education and ensuring that all students have access to music as part of a well-rounded education. Recognize and celebrate our districts and schools. . Through his 25 years in the program, the Foundation has accredited more than 1,000 school districts and schools in 43 states.
Schools and communities recognized as Best Communities for Music Education are committed to providing musical learning opportunities for all students and set an example for other communities to follow.
